Our School Aims

CamestoneWe believe in the importance of preparing our children for the 21st Century through the following aims.

  • To provide equal opportunities for all within a safe, secure and caring environment.
  • To encourage our pupils to feel valued and to become confident independent learners and creative thinkers.
  • To develop respectful relationships and encourage politeness, consideration and empathy with others.
  • To create an atmosphere such that children, their families, staff, Governors and the wider community work in partnership to achieve the highest standards of learning and behaviour.
  • To develop the attitudes, skills and knowledge that our pupils will need to become responsible, healthy and adaptable citizens.

Our Values Programme

As an inclusive school we have chosen to introduce an educational values programme.  Values based education is an approach to teaching whereby children learn about important values which can set them up for life. It creates a strong learning environment that can enhance academic achievement and develop pupils’ personal, social and emotional development and skills.

Camestone Aims

Our school aims at Camestone have been the basis for the development of our ‘Values Education Programme.’   The overall aim of the programme is to enhance the learning environment through the positive values modelled by staff and pupils throughout the school.

In September 2015 we launched our Values programme with all staff and pupils involved. Together we launched 300 balloons with the intention of ‘spreading our Camestone Values across the community and maybe even the country.’ This was extremely successful with balloons travelling as far as Germany, thus spreading our Values across the world!

The Values Programme is delivered to all pupils across the school within lessons, assemblies, stories and events so that it becomes part of everyday life and school.

Values Award

As part of our Values teaching and learning we hold a ‘Values Assembly’ at the end of every half term. Each class teacher chooses one child who they feel has continuously displayed the elements of the main Value and the underpinning Values during the half term.

Children who have been chosen are presented with a certificate by one of the school Governors. To add to the occasion parents of the chosen children are invited to attend the assembly to be part of the celebration. This event provides an opportunity to celebrate children’s achievements within our school and family community.
